Centre russe d'études politiques, in cooperation with PIR Center, is happy to present the launch of the new journal Security Index.
The conclusions derived in Security Index and recommendations made on the pages of this scientific and at the same time hands-on publication will be relevant and useful for economic actors who work in the field of security, as well as politicians who participate in the shaping of Russian foreign policy.
The main target audiences of the journal are those who have a real influence on world events: politicians and experts, journalists, scholars, teachers, and young specialists who will shape Russia’s future in the next 5 to 10 years.
In Russia, the journal is read in the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Administration of the President, the Security Council, the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Atomic Energy Agency, the Ministry of Economic Development and other executive bodies of the Russian Federation.
Security Index is published three times a year in Russian and English. It is a recognized and well-respected source of information for politicians and other specialists in places like Washington and Tehran, Tokyo and Vienna, Delhi and Beijing, Stockholm and Islamabad, London and Geneva, along with other cities and countries throughout the world. The English edition of Security Index is distributed by the European office of PIR Center of Political Studies based in Geneva.
The new journal Security Index follows the traditions established by its predecessor, the journal Yaderny Control, yet covers a much broader spectrum of issues pertinent to international security, including such areas as:
- Non-proliferation of WMD and Arms Control;
- Countering International Terrorism;
- Protection of Critical Infrastructures;
- Energy Security;
- Military and Technical Cooperation;
- Information Security;
- Demographic Security and Migration Issues;
- Environmental Security, Global Climate Change;
- Biosecurity and control over the infectious diseases;
- Education and Knowledge Economics.
Presentations of the first issue of Security Index took place on February 1, 2007, in Moscow and on February 28, 2007, in Geneva (photo gallery from the Geneva presentation is available here).
